2007 restaurants and results:

The first annual Dine Out for Greatness campaign, a new partnership between SYSCO Food Services of Portland and the Oregon Restaurant Association benefiting Special Olympics Oregon, was officially a success. Restaurants from throughout Oregon donated a percentage of their sales to Special Olympics Oregon on August 9th—the day before the official start of The Bite of Oregon—as a way to promote both the festival and Oregon’s bounty in food and drink.

Marketing and Advertising support for this new wrap-around event was provided through the Bite of Oregon’s media partners, The Oregonian, Entercom Portland Radio, Tri Met and OregonLive.com. Special Olympics Oregon also created highly visible posters, handbills, guest folio inserts and window decals to help restaurants promote the event.

The incredible generosity of Oregon’s culinary community was again on display, as 111 restaurants participated in this first-ever culinary fundraiser, which raised more than $22,000 for Special Olympics Oregon.
